Denzel Washington Serves Grown-Man Sexiness

…And I am here for it.

I was surprised to see pictures of Denzel in GQ Magazine pop into my Twitter feed recently. I hadn’t thought much of Denzel lately. The last Denzel movie I saw, Safe House, was – meh. It was a’ight. It was fine for watching on demand while sipping on a little something with the dude. We napped intermittently through much of it, the effects of a long week and ok wine more than the movie. Denzel looks pretty scruffy in Safe House, as if he’s finally letting go of that “Sexiest Black Man in Hollywood” title he used to carry.

But then, this happened:

And that’s ok.

Denzel is getting his grown and sexy on. I don’t mean grown and sexy like fat men in burgundy polyester double-breasted Steve Harvey suits, out at the club working that one move they learned in 1979. I’m not talking K-Ci andJoJo grown and sexy style, either:

Denzel’s GQ photo shoot reflects a man who is comfortable in his skin. A man who has settled into his face and his body as they are now, instead of trying to bring back a youth that will never return. I wish more actors would do the same.

And goodness, does Denzel look good in a suit!

I hope Denzel maintains this look. It works for him. And women of all ages approve.
